mission #4

Looking at our next unit in math, I was happy to see that there are many things we can do to incorporate the “real world” into these lessons. Measuring, plots, and graphs are always fun to teach. All these things can carry over to science, so we can get two lessons for the price of one.

Comments the video

I thought that the video was great and so true in many ways. I did agree that we need to be better consumers of our math. Sometimes, when a consumer only has a limited number of products to purchase, that consumer is stuck with an inferior product.

Math in everyday life

I try to make my math lessons connect with kids’ experiences in their life. Money is the easiest one. All kids no something about money. Time spent on video games. Scores in those same games. Fantasy football is a good one on percentages and decimals.

If you have any good ones, shoot me some ideas.
